World Architecture Festival Barcelona del 3 al 5 de Noviembre del 2010

img_super-jury

The next day, November 3 will be in Barcelona for the WAF.
I fear that once again we will have to metabolize all the information in this international festival of architecture will be exposed. Especially when we come to the Venice Biennale with the hundreds of activities and pavilions that made us to minimize the information accumulated since the material that we bring back into digital paper and exceeded the allowable load of the aircraft as it was around 30 kg not including digital formats. The very generosity of
Architectural Record and Architecture Review in inviting us to participate as a Media Partner motivates us in this challenge and hope to make some reports about the event that we hope will be of your satisfaction.
The organization takes us part of the official confirmed, and I encourage you to meet in Barcelona.

Among numerous architectural and real estate events that I attended in the last decade, WAF was one of the best.

Little Big Berlin (HD)

Little Big Berlin from pilpop on Vimeo.

I dedicate this film to Berlin where I have been living for 19 years now. While the architecture of Berlin is stunningly beautiful, only its inhabitants make Berlin the unique city that it is. In every corner there is something new to discover. And the best thing to do is to film it.

Filmed with my beloved Sony HC9. Edited with Sony Vegas Pro 9.The miniature effect is called tilt-shift, which originates from a particular lens that was used to photograph architecture. The miniature effect is a by-product of that. It can also be achieved by digital postprocessing.
Music: “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” by Franz Liszt
........................................................................................................................................................................

This heat, it's terrible. It's making everyone lethargic and unhappy. Take three minutes to remind yourself why you live here.

Museo del Holocausto de Los Angeles: Belzberg Arquitectos–Belzberg Architects: Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust

1

santa Mónica based office belzberg architects has finished the design of  the new los ángeles museum of the holocaust (LAMOTH). now open to  the public, the museum features an undulating green roof that pulls up  the northwest corner of los angeles' pan pacific park. serving as an annex
to the already existing holocaust monument, the multi-cultural museum aims to integrate completely into the public green space, minimizing the visual impact on the park's atmosphere.
the roof, while subtle in height, features graphic lines of concrete that divides  the surface into a series of zigzagging pedestrian paths. slicing through  the center is the descending entry ramp, which tapers in to an interior space  that is flanked by sloped ceilings and perspective-altering floors. the design
of the layout and circulation kept conscious the institute's 50 year history,  utilizing the building's underground elements to evoke certain emotions from the visitors. clever usage of natural light from above alleviates the darkness  and compressive atmosphere provided by the shotcrete columns.
